Strength is
the mission.

ValorFit supports veterans' mental and physical health through fitness and community. Founded by a Purple Heart recipient who found his way back in a gym, built for every veteran still fighting to find theirs.

What We Do

The war doesn't end at discharge. Neither does the fight back.

ValorFit exists for the veteran sitting at home wondering who has their back now. The answer is simple: we do, and so does everyone at the gym.

01

Fitness as Therapy

Structured group training gives veterans what the service gave them: a standard, a schedule, and a reason to show up. The barbell doesn't care where you've been. It only asks what you'll do next.

02

Community First

Isolation is the enemy. Every workout puts a veteran shoulder to shoulder with people who get it, a unit again, sweating toward the same goal.

03

A Path Forward

From the first application to the first pull-up, ValorFit walks with veterans through recovery, one training day at a time.

Troy's Story
"On July 30, 2015, I nearly lost my fight. Then I walked into a gym, and everything changed."

Troy Peterson signed his Active Duty contract days after September 11th. As a 13B Cannon Crewmember with the 1st Cavalry Division, he deployed to southeast Baghdad in 2004 and came home with a Purple Heart, and with wounds that don't show up on an X-ray.

mTBI, PTSD, and seven years of addiction nearly took everything. After surviving a suicide attempt in 2015, Troy took his wife Tiffany's advice and joined CrossFit Waukee. The community he found there saved his life, and ValorFit was born so no veteran has to find that community by luck.

Troy lives in Winterset, Iowa with Tiffany and their two sons.

The Program

Three steps between a veteran and a barbell.

Step 1

Apply

A short application tells us who you are, where you served, and what you're working toward. Five minutes, no gatekeeping.

Step 2

Get Connected

The ValorFit team reviews every application and connects you with training and a supporting community near you.

Step 3

Get Stronger Together

Show up, train, and belong. Progress is measured in workouts finished and in lives rebuilt.

Demo noteProgram-step wording is a placeholder pending Troy's input on exactly how placement works (sponsored memberships, affiliate gyms, and so on). The application flow itself is demonstrated on the Apply page, including the staff-side queue that replaces forms landing in an inbox.
